William Shakespeare William Shakespeare is known as the greatest English writer of all time.

Shakespeare was born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon England. !is father "ohn was a glove maker and his mother #ar$ %ame from a farming famil$. !e had two brothers and four sisters. William went to the village s%hool. &n 15'( Shakespeare married a lo%al woman named Anne !athawa$. )heir daughter Susanna was born in 15'* and their twins !amnet and "udith were born in 15'5. +othing is known about Shakespeare,s life from 15'5 to about 15-1. &t is known that b$ 15-( he was an a%tor living in .ondon. !e started writing poems about this time and later wrote more than 15/ sonnets whi%h were published in 16/-. !e was also writing pla$s. &n 15-4 Shakespeare and some other a%tors started a new theatre %ompan$. &t was sponsored b$ a wealth$ nobleman the .ord 0hamberlain.
