Space

Our modular seating banks allow a varied range of configurations within the space from full floor conference style to raked seating banks on any or all of 4 sides. We also have various configuration options using cushions on the floor with stage boxes around the sides of the studio. The Studio has black drapes that cover 3 sides to help with black out and acoustics. The drapes below balcony level are on Triple E tab track. The blacks above balcony level are fixed. The total floor area of the empty space is 11.7m wide x 10.9m Deep. Please note the Stage Right and Left walls are curved. We will happily discuss your requirements to find a layout to suit your needs.

Please contact us. Floor: The theatre has an real oak wooden floor covered with a black Harlequin dance floor. The floor cannot be screwed into. The total floor area of the empty space is 11.7m wide x 10.9m Deep. Please note the Stage Right and Left walls are curved. The black floor covering can be removed by prior arrangement. Staging: A Stage Systems Q Build system is available which can be built to various configurations. Each module is 900mm x 750 x 277mm. It can be used to form seating banks and/or as a raised stage. Please advise us of your requirements at the time of booking. Access: Get in access is via a lift from Hutcheson Street at the corner of Wilson Street. Hutcheson Street doors - 1100mm x 2250 Lift doors 1090 x 1980 Internal lift dimensions 1470 x 2120 x 1490 Maximum lift weight is 1000kg NB Measurements are given in mm and show as Width x Height x Depth. It is advised that equipment is discussed with Scottish Youth Theatre prior to arrival on site. Wheelchair access to the stage is via the building foyer passenger lift. Please let us know in advance if you have specific access requirements. Control Room: Lighting and sound control room is located at ground level with an opening sliding glass window onto the performance space. A balcony level surrounds three sides of the venue at this level with direct access to back stage via a metal stairway. Lighting and sound positions can be set up on the balcony or at stage level by prior arrangement.
