The Investigation Begins
At the request of Peter Davenport,
Dr. Richard Haines, Director of
NARCAP started the investigation. Dr.
Haines has many years of experience in
dealing with pilots and the aviation in-
dustry on the subject of UFOs. Dr.
Haines reputation for honoring witness
anonymity (especially for pilots whose
livelihood depends on it) is truly com-
mendable. Illinois MUFON and the
Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) will
be assisting Dr. Haines in the field as
needed. Freedom of information request
have been filed by Dr. Haines and Jon
Hilkevitch. They have not yet received
any responses to these FOIA requests.
At this time it is premature to make any
more statements as to the progress of
this investigation other than to say it is
ongoing and there is much to do. A fi-
