Introduction:

This lesson focuses on listening and speaking skills. The activities give chances to pupils to improve their listening and speaking ability. Teachers role is to facilitate pupils towards an effective lesson. Other skills such as reading and writing are integrated in this lesson.

Content Standard(s):

1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation.

1.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen and respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purposes.

1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes, tongue twisters and sing songs paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation.

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: 1. listen and list down eight occupations based on the song lyrics 2. listen and write down a short passage read by the teacher with minor errors 3. identify things and information related to the occupations

1. Teacher reads a simple passage about occupations. 2. Pupils need to write the sentences read by the teacher on a piece of paper. 3. Teacher shows the passage on the presentation slide. 4. Teacher asks pupils to do peer-assessment to check the passage written by referring to the passage shown. 5. Teacher then selects a few

1. Teacher divides pupils into groups. 2. Teacher gives each group a manila card, word cards and a jumble up picture. 3. Pupils need to find picture of things related to the occupation given to their group. 4. Then, they need to paste the pictures and the word cards given on the manila card. 5. Pupils present their works in front of the class.
