To help residents recognise their rooms more easily, we have designed bedroom signs in which names and photographs are easily interchangeable. As well as adding a personal touch, this again promotes independence and reduces feelings of stress.

Change the signs in 4 easy steps

When a new resident moves into a room and you want to change the name and photograph on the door, all you have to do is follow the 4 step guide below. Its quick. Its easy. Theres no added cost and the signs will resist most attempts by residents to tamper with them. Step 1. Take a head and shoulders photograph (See example above) of the new resident using a digital camera and load on to your computer. Step 2. Go to the pdf creator which can be found on www.hcesolutions.co.uk and follow the instructions. Step 3. Upload the photograph and type in the residents name (Maximum 20 characters). Step 4. Print out the pdf in colour and place it between the front and back of the sign and replace it back on the door.

New, easy to install, re resistant door decals

It can be reassuring and beneficial to care home residents with dementia if they feel they are taking part in everyday life. Door decals carry the design of a real front door so that residents leaving their bedroom get the impression they are walking out of their own home. Made from durable, fire-rated vinyl, decals are available in a range of different colours to brighten up the care home and aid room recognition. Decals can be supplemented with different fittings (available by special order) such as letter boxes, numbers and door knockers for added authenticity, as well as kick plates in contrasting colours to reduce wear and tear.
