The paper was originally written in a different language and was translated to English by Lionel Duisit. Here the author first describes narratives through narrations from novels. He analyzes a few authors and some of their narratives to describe a narrative. He explains how in a narrative you can have both personal and impersonal linguistic styles. He explains his analysis through the fictional narratives. The article helps in understanding what are the contents in a narrative and also how to analyze a narrative which can help me for my research.

Stockwell, Peter (2005). Language and Literature: Stylistics: (CH31. The handbook of English linguistics by Bas Aarts and April McMahon. UK, Blackwell Publishing

The author here describes stylistics in language and literature. He briefly mentions the history and how stylistics arose from the field of sociolinguistics and discourse analysis. He briefly explains about the rise of stylistics during the 1990s when it became one of the most dynamic fields in applied linguistics. He then mentions some examples and concludes with the present research being done in stylistics. The article helps to understand how to analyze the style of writing which is something that will be helpful to my research.

McMenamin, Gerald R. (2010). Routledge Handbook of forensic linguistics. Malcolm Coulthard and Alison Johnson(Ch.32. Forensic Stylistics). London, Routledge

In this chapter, McMenamin focuses on forensic stylistics. He describes how stylistics is the study of style in language and how one can create their own style in language. He

explains it using a few cases and how stylistics can help in such situations. He also mention about the challenges and the limitations in the field. Mikov, Gabriela (2009). In this paper, the author talk about the semantic analysis of words and sentences but how it may differ based on situations and cross cultural references. She uses references of different narrations to explain her meanings. This is helpful since it helps us understand how cultural analysis and stylistics can help us understand the meaning and context of the writing.

In this paper, the author explains narrative analysis. She explains the different kinds of narratives given by people based on the context or situation. She explains different authors who has talked about narratives. She describes the thematic, structural, interactional and performative analysis. This paper can help in describing the type of narrative that I am researching, which can be helpful to my paper.

McMenamin, Gerald (2002). Forensic Linguistics: Advances in Forensic Linguistics (Ch.10 Case Study: Jon Benet Ramsey). CRC Press. Florida

The author explains the case of Jon Benet Ramsey and the ransom note that was found. He goes on to analyze it and also shows the analysis of the writings of John Ramsey and Patricia Ramsey. He accounts for detailed charts to show the writings of both John and Patricia Ramsey and also an account of the community writings to look for similarities. He also shows a brief analysis of the other suspects to analyze the writing style. This helps me understand how to analyze the ransom notes for my paper.

Riessman, Catherine Kohler (2000). Analysis of Personal narratives. Sage Publications. USA The author describes and explains about narratives. For the research she did interviews about personal experience of the informants about disruptive life events like divorce, chronic illness etc. She explains the contents of a narrative. She accounts for a woman who gives her personal narration about her pregnancy. This article help in understanding how to analyze a narrative, which can be beneficial to my research.

Gales, Tammy (2011). Identifying interpersonal stance in threatening discourse: An appraisal analysis. Sage Publications. USA The author explains about analyzing threats and how linguists can analyze the language used in a threat to understand the commitment of the threat level. Analyzing threats, using the appraisal analysis method she explains how the authors can take a stance either strengthening or weakening their commitment level. The article helps in analyzing the threat written by authors and using the discourse markers to look at how they describe the violent acts.
