Bible: We continue to read in our Jesus Storybook Bible. We flew to Ireland and then took the train to Spain. Well visit France next week and then fly to Asia. Bible Memory: Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lords Prayer), Due: April 30 Math: * Attributes of shapes * 3D shapes * Symmetry * Unit 7 Test Language Arts: Senorita Casallas and I are really seeing some good progress in reading. Three or four days a week we have centers when the class gets to read in a very small group with Senorita C., read on their own, and write with me. We also have whole group time focusing on phonics. These past two weeks we covered the soft r, silent h, and the /k/ sound using c, qu, and k. In reading we have focused on drawing conclusions and using text clues. With writing we have been doing free writes and also working on answering questions with complete sentences.

We are getting ready for the school auction. Please mark your calendars and plan to come for a fun evening together. The class made two amazing projects. They each got a quarter of a cross and used oil pastels to fully decorate the cross and background. Most thought they were coloring in an L. I then mounted the quarters on black cardstock. Using old windows from our farmhouse, I mounted a cross in each windowpane. I put the word FE on the window Faith in Spanish. For the other project each child used watercolors to paint a dove. I then arranged these around another window. I put the word PAZ on that one Peace. They really look nice. The faith one is hanging in the office and the other is in the lobby. You can also see pictures of them on Facebook. Our other class project is gathering items for a Spanish-themed basket. We still need items! Upcoming Events: End of 3rd quarter Early dismissal, 12:30 LG Auction No school, Good Friday Early dismissal, 12:30 No school Last day, 11:00 dismissal
