Challenge: It is not exactly known beforehand what actual output will be obtained from a carcass.
Solution: Actual output can be recorded in a batch Cost can be allocated dynamically based on actual output or based on static allocation ratio in BOM/batch.

Lifecell at a Glance
LifeCell develops and markets tissue repair products for use in reconstructive, urogynecologic and orthopedic surgical procedures.
Approximately 900+ employees world-wide Products are sold in US, Canada and Europe
Cymetra - is an injectible form of the regenerative tissue matrix used to restore loss of tissue
Strattice - is a sterile porcine-derived tissue that supports tissue regeneration Spy Elite System - is used for perfusion visualization and assessment in plastic and reconstructive procedures; it provides surgeons with real-time information needed to modify operative plans and optimize outcomes before the patient leaves the operating table
Business Drivers
Return on Investment (ROI)
Implement and Simplify: Re-engineer existing capabilities and "de-customize application to simplify support. Implement and Streamline processes: Get more value out of current implementation by redesigning and streamlining business processes, conducting end-user training , establishing shared service centers and providing other user support to help increase system use.
Implement , Simplify and Outsource: Outsource application management responsibilities in conjunction with the implementation.
Increase Functionality
Implement and Expand capabilities: Implement existing capabilities and implement additional capabilities to meet business demand, improve usability . Country Specific Globalization: Release12.1 and further offers better solutions for country specific requirements.
Business Continuity
Implement and Align with Applications Implement our applications to ensure Oracle support. Low Risk : Existing functionality and bare bones to implement with a Low Risk based solution

Product Recommendations
Desired Oracle MES improvements
Navigation OPM MES needs to be much simpler Interactive Dashboard view of batch. Ability to see major components of MES batch and be able view their status and click to Make process instruction ordering smarter and more customizable. Conditional branching that can utilize batch values to determine whether a step should be mandatory. Allow material transactions and process parameters to be re-visited. For example if more than once piece of equipment used, or more material consumed after initial use. Formalize custom function button to call company specific customizations in OPM (and pass values from MES to OPM). Ability to make comments more universal to batch, easily visible and updateable by others.
