RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
1. Theoretical cross section calculations for heavy ion reactions.
2. Nuclear instrumentation for radiation detection and measurements.
3. Environmental low-level radioactivity measurements using gamma-ray spectroscopy.

2000-present Radioanalysis Research Lab (RRL), Faculty of Science, Tanta University, Tanta,
Egypt.
 Environmental radioactivity measurements, using 10 and 50% HPGe and
5"5" NaI(Tl) detectors, have been started at RRL, Faculty of Science, Tanta
University. Instrumentation, calibration procedures and data analysis
techniques were specially developed.
 Evaluation of the elevated radioactivity levels due to the presence of black
sand in some Egyptian beaches and its implication to human exposure.
 Design and test of shielding material with high absorption coefficient and
low-level radioactivity level to be used as a passive shielding.

1996-2000  Theoretical cross section calculations for heavy ion reactions and applying the
 elastic model for various nucleus-nucleus fusions.
