ABOUT INTERNET INDUSTRY: Internet is a worldwide collection of computer networks. Internet is a cooperative effort of many people and organizations. The computers on the Internet can communicate because they are physically linked and because they share a common language called TCP-IP. TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is major transport protocol that provide communication between two computers in the network. IP (Internet Protocol) is the network protocol that provides communication between two networks in the internet.

Internet was first started in the year 1969 by the Military of United States by connecting 6 university supercomputers. Later in 1970s smaller colleges link their computers to the backbone sites. In 1980s the corporate research departments started to link their computers to public network facilities and finally private commercial networks and global links bring the internet everywhere and after that the internet industry started to grow all over the world.

Anyone in the world can contribute for the growth of the Internet, but they should have the technical knowledge to handle the internet. The people can upload and download anything they want, hence internet would grow.

Internet has made the world smaller, as any one by sitting in any part world can able to contact any person in any part of the world. Because of internet the business world has subjected to a tremendous change. It shifted business from slow moving phase to fast moving phase. It lead the business world to travel in the speed of bullet train. Hence now a days not only business people but also a common man require internet, it is also the people who use it, to communicate and to share information, even to build relationships and communities. Internet is developing as a culture that has grown within a virtual space, and that has permeated many aspects of our everyday lives, hence it has become a basic need for a man.

INTERNET INDUSTRY IN INDIA: Even though internet was commercially started in 1980s, in India it was launched in 1995 by VSNL (Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited) a state owned corporation. In May 1998 National task Force on Information Technology and Software Development was created as the first action plan to create internet access to all the district headquarters by January 2000. The Government legally started to allow the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to use the voice over internet protocol in 2002. At the end of 2006 around 150 Internet Service Providers got the license to offer the internet service. By the end of 2008 more than 350 service providers were operating in India which includes both local and national players. From the date of launching of the Internet till late 2000s, the state owned corporation BSNL had the major market share. But in the corporate Internet Airtel is leading the market by overtaking BSNL, because of its vast array of services.

HOW INTERNET WORKS The Internet is like a vast transportation system for data. The system includes and connects local, regional, nation and international networks. This Internet is expanding daily as more networks and computers are connecting to it.

The data and the other information are uploaded to server through an IP address by any organization. When a user requests to access that information, he/she should enter the address given to that organizations information and then he/she would get the information from that server.

A. BACKROUND AND INCEPTION OF THE COMPANY BHARTI AIRTEL formerly known as BHARTI TELE VENTURES LIMITED (BTVL) was incorporated on 7th July 1995.In April 2006 the company was renamed as BHARTI AIRTEL. Sunil Bharti Mittal is the Founder of the company and the company is having its headquarters at Delhi, India. BHARTI AIRTEL is a part of BHARTI ENTERPRISES providing the

telecommunication service throughout India and also in some foreign countries. BHARTI AIRTEL is the only company that has the access to all 22 circles in India. By the end of December 2012the company has reached more than 200 million customers in its Indian customer base. It has extended its services to all around the world by having the access to 20 countries. BHARTI AIRTEL is the largest telecommunication service provider in India based on number of customer and globally it stands in the 3rd position. It is the second largest provider of the fixed telephony after BSNL (Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited). It also offers broadband and subscription television. The company has employed around 21,000 people globally. BHARTI AIRTEL is the first company to start mobile banking, as a trial basis it has started its service in Gurgaon near Delhi.

BHARTI AIRTEL is the first telecommunication company to offer 4G (Fourth Generation) service in India, by launching the 4G service in Kolkata in April 2012. The Kolkata launch was followed by the launch of Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh. It also gained the access to another 4 circles by entering into an agreement with Qualcomm Asia Pacific and became the leader by having 8 4G circles in India. The company is not only concentrating on the business expansion and profit maximization, it is also concentrating on its social responsibilities. It has stated BHARTI foundation to help underprivileged children and young people. B.
