Congratulations Keefer!
Keefer Johnson was our March Lion's Club Student of the Month!
Grand Ledge Public Schools will be holding a Town Hall meeting in the High School Auditorium on Thursday, April 17th, from 6:00-8:00pm. Parents are free to attend and arrive on time.
The 2014 yearbook will be distributed at the yearbook signing party on May 22 in the cafeteria. Seniors can enter at 4 p.m. and everyone else can enter at 5 p.m. The ending time is 6 p.m. If the student cannot pick up their yearbook on May 22 during the release party, they may pick their books up at lunch of after school only after May 23 in room 113. Contact Mrs. Badalamente with questions badalamentes@glcomets.net. More details to come as the event approaches. There are still "extra" yearbooks available to be pre-ordered. Please bring $75 cash or check (made out to GLHS) to room 113 to Mrs. Badalamente to get on the list.
The Ethel J Armeling Scholarship Vocal Competition was held at the MSU School of Music on Sunday, March 16. Ten singers from the Lansing area were chosen to perform, four of them being GLHS choir students. Alex Holly, George Marshall, Rachel Rayl and Matt Wilcox performed for the scholarship. Rachel Rayl was chosen as the 2nd place winner, earning a $500 scholarship! Congratulations to all of these singers.
Grand Ledge High School is now a Labels for Education School! You can help Grand Ledge High School earn free merchandise simply by collecting Labels for Education participating product UPCs and beverage/sauce caps! Please turn in any UPCs and caps to the box in the main office. For a complete list of participating products, please visit the Labels for Education website.

Calculators are available for checkout from the Math Intervention Center. Scientific calculators are free and only require a parent signature. Graphing calculators are available for a $20 deposit and a $10 rental fee. The deposit is returned when the graphing calculator is returned. Checkout forms are available outside room 315.
ACT Testing

Registration is May 9th and test date is June 14th. Our school code is 231675 and the cost is $36.50 for ACT No Writing and $52.50 ACT Plus Writing.
Soloists receiving a Second Division Rating (Excellent) included: Maddie Allen 82 on Proficiency II Bass Clarinet Noah Ford 82 on Proficiency II Snare Jaren Scoggins 79 on Proficiency II Trombone Nathaniel Fellows 84 on Proficiency I Tuba David Weiss 82 on Proficiency I Clarinet Nathan Buchweitz 9th grade Euphonium Out of the several thousand students who participated in the State Solo and Ensemble Festival, around two hundred of them are selected for membership in the Michigan Youth Arts Festival Honors Band and Orchestra. Nicholas Osborn, Trevor Spitzley, Jonah Weller, and Andrew Zakerski were all selected to be members of these two elite groups. In addition, the Chamber Woodwind Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, and Trombone Quartet were selected as Outstanding Ensembles by their State adjudicators. Finally, Grand Ledge High School was fortunate to have Jonah Weller recognized as Outstanding Soloist by his adjudicator. Jonah, as well as, the Chamber Woodwind Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, and Trombone Quartet now have the opportunity to perform as part of the Michigan Youth Arts Festival, held on the campus of Western Michigan University, May 8 10, 2014.
