----------------------------------------------------------------------------File name: New Resolutions.txt ----------------------------------------------------------------------------From version v3.

81 and on uLaunchELF is using gsKit instead of libito to handle screen display, which has resulted in yet another increase of the screen resolut ion. As a result of this the old settings for screen offsets have yet again beco me invalid, but this time we have added a filter to the configuration loader, so that it can and will adapt old offset settings, when it recognizes that the con figuration file was saved by an older version of the program. (When the CNF_vers ion value in the file is less than 3.) Another big change in this version is that interlace mode is now default, and ev en mandatory, so non-interlace modes can no longer be set. (Would halve resoluti on...) In case you wish to edit the offsets yourself, the new defaults are as follows: NTSC with Interlace ON: Screen_X = 632 Screen_Y = 50 PAL with Interlace ON: Screen_X = 652 Screen_Y = 72 From version 3.84 the gsKit versions also support non-interlaced modes, and while these are not default, you may still find it useful to know that they use the following offsets to cover the same screen area (almost) as achieved in interlace modes using the settings that were described above: NTSC with Interlace OFF: Screen_X = 632 Screen_Y = 26 PAL with Interlace OFF: Screen_X = 652 Screen_Y = 37 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------The text below relates to an older version update, and is no longer valid. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------From version v3.58 and on uLaunchELF uses screen display routines that have been heavily modified compared to all previous versions, and now use a much higher r esolution than any of them. Because of this the old defaults for screen offsets are no longer valid, and will need to be changed if you want to keep using CNF f iles from those old versions. Just transfer them to your PC, and edit the values of Screen_X and Screen_Y to the new defaults, as follows: NTSC with Interlace OFF: Screen_X = 158 Screen_Y = 26 NTSC with Interlace ON: Screen_X = 158 Screen_Y = 50 PAL with Interlace OFF: Screen_X = 163 Screen_Y = 37

PAL with Interlace ON: Screen_X = 163 Screen_Y = 72 If you don't want to bother with editing the CNFs you can also choose to erase t hem, as the new defaults will be used automatically if no CNF is found on startu p. NB: That feature didn't work correctly in v3.58, but it does in all later versio ns.
