Mission of the School of Midwifery

The Faculty of Health Sciences, Obstetrics Career generates, applies and disseminates the development of human talent through teaching practice, research and links with the community, promoting the progress and sustainable growth and sustainable development of the country, in order to improve the holistic care of women and their pregnancies, to improve the quality of life of the family and society, so as to efficiently and effectively to the needs of sexual and reproductive health of the community response and gives the title and Obstetrician Obstetrician.

History

As of this date no Center for Higher Education of the Province of Rivers Obstetrics prepared professionals, so that there are very few who have graduated from the University of Guayaquil or Quito. Babahoyo Technical University, from 2000, aims to create the School of Midwifery as an academic unit attached to the Faculty of Health Sciences aimed at the scientific, technical training - professional and humanistic students who choose this career in order to turn them into the future leaders of improving maternal health - infant population Babahoyo, Los Rios, and throughout the geographic area of influence of the University.

Perform comprehensive health care to women with or without prenatal complications , pregnancy , postnatal , child ( a) unborn and newborn ( a) , with the active participation of parent, family and community, and

demonstrating ethical attitude respecting their rights and intercultural factors in order to help improve maternal and perinatal and child health. Keep informed to the patient and family about the diagnosis, prognosis , treatment and management of their health as well as the benefits of breastfeeding , or risks and consequences thereof. Plan, conduct , implement, monitor and evaluate targeting pregnant women, family and community to promote responsible and positive attitudes toward maternal and child health education programs and group custom . Order , interpret and evaluate laboratory findings and diagnostic support procedures obstetrician - gynecologist , obstetric actions for midwives during labor and normal delivery . Participate in post-operative care and monitoring obstetric and gynecological treatment. Promote the implementation of the updated sexual and reproductive health, the high rate of maternal mortality, high fertility , induced abortions , teenage pregnancies, conditions originating in the prenatal period and the high incidence of sexually transmitted infections knowledge. Design, implement , monitor , monitor and evaluate programs for sexual and reproductive health for all ( as) adolescents promoting healthy lifestyles . The method of study is organized annually regime subjects from first to fourth grade and fifth grade for cycles including extramural with whose approval the student graduates from the School.

The curriculum for first, second, third and fourth year is the mode by Subject. Fifth year has mode modules including Extramural Block.

d) Graduates are specialist in obstetrics l be pregnant woman before and during pregnancy, childbirth and the post-normal childbirth.

c) Obstetrics school should be more appreciated nationwide.

d) Obstetrics school graduate students should not average inefficient or transposers ends as a profession is where you treat the life of the mother and baby.

e) Obstetrics school should prepare your students to perform these c-sections.
