Basic qualifications:

You will have completed at least two years of your biological sciences undergraduate degree but not yet have graduated by commencement of your placement
Preferred qualifications:

A high calibre undergraduate that has completed 2 years in a biology/pharmacology related field. Candidates PIL, although this is not compulsory as this can be arranged prior to or during the appointment.
Details:

We have an opportunity for an Industrial Placement In Vivo Imaging Scientist to take up a one year placemen commencing in August 2014. This role will be within the Preclinical and Translational Imaging unit based in Stevenage. A varied role with opportunities to gain an insite into many therapeutic areas including respirator musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, neurology etc as well as key functions such as target validation, lead optimis and safety assessment where routine imaging is performed. The group consists of several imaging modalities MRI, CT, fluorescence and x-ray all of which play an important role in a variety of key processes such as lead optimisation and safety assessment of our molecules. Core tasks would be liaising with scientists, organising studies, performing routine imaging, as well as processing and preparing presentations. Other opportunities w also exist to gain experience in other functional areas that may include pathology, microbiology and transgen There would be an opportunity to develop skills in many areas which could then be applied to an independent that would be assigned to the successful applicant.
