I used this database provided me with information about who was in control of the NPS when it was first created. After reading part of this book it gave me some background about the significant man named Gifford Pinchot who exchanged letters and was best friends with Teddy Roosevelt. From the article, it stated that this was the first time anyone had used the word 'conservation' linked to natural resources. My interview with Ms. Pape helped me understand more about what would have happened if there wasn't such a thing protecting these lands, and how the NPS has fulfilled the
