I would like to be able to follow through with commitme nts with the residents however, I

commitments

because every day is different

never know if Im allowed to complete some tasks or there might be a restraint that day of the commitme nt therefore I would not be able to complete the commitme nt.

One of my goals I chose is to workout. I now run 3 times a week, complete yoga every Sunday or Monday morning depending if I have placement on the weekends. I enjoy running because it clears my mind and it helps me feel healthy and better about myself.

I have been eating healthy for a couple months now. I pack a lunch for placement and work. I have been eating my own meals at placement. I found out I am allowed to bring a lunch if it is close to what the residents are eating. The meals have a salad every night, therefore, for dinners, Ive had a salad for most my meal and also brought snacks. I bought healthy food and a variety of fruits and vegetables.

I also calculate my daily calorie intake. I bought a bit fit which helps me to stay on track. I add in my daily food and drink intake, my exercise and my weight.

Another goal I had for my self is time management/ creating time to work on myself. Every night I work until 10:30 at different jobs, therefore it is impossible to go to bed early and wake up early. Therefore, when I go to bed, I set my alarm 8 hours later so I dont over sleep. Many nights I go to bed at midnight and wake up at 8a.m. This gives me the average amount of sleep and I wake up early enough to workout, complete homework and daily routines before work. I made a schedule on my calendar to visually show myself my routines and work schedules. I no longer procrastinate on assignments and often finis them a while before the due date. Therefore, I was able to balance my school, placement, other 2 jobs, and homework also creating time for friends and myself.

I made a goal to meditate once per week. I was having a hard time concentrating and not thinking about other things while meditating. Therefore, I changed this goal to completing yoga once per week and listening to calming music. I complete this on either Sunday or Monday morning depending on the day I do not have placement early ion the morning as I am in a group home. This helps me to relax and it helps my stress level.

A goal I have is to improve my social abilities. I needed to fight shyness, get involved in conversation, build self-esteem, relax and be confident. I am very hard

on myself and I often dont say anything because Im afraid of negative comments I will receive back. I was also very intimidated when I first started placement. I am still intimidated slightly but got a lot better. This is because when I voice my opinion or suggestion, I get shut down or ignored. I take this very personally and beat myself up over it as I am very hard on myself. This makes me to shut down and become shy but really Im afraid to be myself.

I made a goal to communicate effectively with my colleagues. This requires me to not be shy around my colleagues, be calm at all times, listen and be heard. I tried to feel confident around my colleagues and state suggestions, I have been calm at all times, I listen and I try to be heard. I find I communicate effectively with my colleagues.

Another goal I have is to learn what is required to enhance my performance. I researched possibilities I can do to enhance my skills in my career. I researched the online program Rosetta stone which is a cd that has lessons to teach you another language. I would like to learn French and then Spanish. I am going to start French lessons in the summer through Rosetta stone. I also looked into University programs to pursue after I graduate from college. I am interested to receive a degree in social services and then get a job in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I wanted to start volunteering in the community. I couldnt fit that into my schedule because I have placement, two additional jobs, 3 school courses with

homework involved. I am busy now and dont have time right now to volunteer. However, I am going to join the big brother/sister program in the summer. I researched places that interest me and decided to complete the big brother/sister program in the summer. I created a resume and handed it in last week. I figured a time that would fit best in my schedule, which would be either a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon as I am working full time during the day, and at night some days.

Another goal I had for myself was to take extra courses. My objectives were to sign up for extra courses, research what courses are needed to advance for a University degree and to read a book that relates to child and you care. I looked up courses for University, which I chose to receive a Social Service degree. I read the book, The Social Worker which was about small stories dealing with children who have been abused or neglected.

A goal I had was to take a self-defense course from Fleming College as I heard they offered it. I found pout what dates the school offered the self-defense course and unfortunately I was too late and missed the date.

I would like to learn more about the community and, to obtain knowledge from the community, to learn and obtain knowledge from professionals and to go beyond my expectations in placement. I completed this goal as I went into the community with my placement. I obtained a ton of knowledge from professionals in

the community and my colleagues and I also went beyond my expectations in placement by bringing in activities for the residents at placement. I brought in knitting things, stuff to make bracelets, coloring things, cards, nail polish and we also did a spa day. The residents enjoyed these activities and had fun with the activities I brought in for them to do.

I would like to learn and share knowledge from colleges by discussing and listening to experiences, ask questions, learn from others and my own mistakes. Everyone make mistakes and I learned a lot from making mistakes, talking to colleges, listening and discussing o experiences and asking questions.

A goal I had for myself was to create a plan to enhance my skills by thin king of a plan and writing it down with deadlines, be determined to reach these deadlines and boost confidence to enhance skills. I completed many plans as bringing in activities and suggestions to keep the girls busy and teach them skills.

I decided I needed to gain confidence in placement by challenging myself, set goals, take small steps and not let others bring me down. I struggled with not letting people control my emotions. I take things personally and its something I am working on and need to continue to work on.

I made a goal to use my creativity to connect with the residents to create relationships. I used creativity to gain relationships with the residents by bringing in

activities for them to do. I used activities to connect with clients as it gives us something in common.

A goal I had for myself was to complete commitment by following through with my word, show up on time to work, organization and make a schedule. I completed all these goals to the best of my ability.
