Child Abduction Recently many kids have been taking from their parents. Every 40 seconds in the United States, a child becomes missing or is abducted. About 75% of the victims of nonfamily children are girls. Parents who go through this type of situation are mainly stressed out, have lack of sleep, and are worried about the safety return of their child. Many young kids just be minding their own business in the yard playing; when some stranger walks up to the child and tries to kidnap them. Young kids today need to be closely supervised when outside playing. Parents need to know their neighbors background history just in case (Bilich). Some parents become stressed out, feeling for loneliness, fear, loss of appetite, or serve depression. More than 50% sought professional help with this situation. Sometimes stress can interfere with the other family members. Most of the abduction children siblings become forgotten victims. Families of abducted children experience serious emotional distress. And wonder if they will ever see their love one anytime soon. Some of the parents stay out of work for a period of time thinking about their child and long is it going to be before they reunite with each other again (Hilgeman).

Many parents fear lack of sleep, they stay up all hours of the day and night praying and looking for anything that can help bring home their child. They even put up posters around the community asking them to help find their child so they once can have peace again. Another effect of lack of sleep is nightmares wondering will you ever hold your child in your arms again. Some people stay up all hours of the night questioning why did this thing happen and wonder why god let this happen to them. Being abducted from your family has a very big impact of children. Abducted children suffer emotionally sometimes physically at the hands of the abductor-parents. Many children are told the other parent is dead or no longer loves them. Many abducted children are given new names by their abductor-parents and instructed not to reveal their real names or where they lived before. Another impact on abducted children they do not want others to know they were the abducted children. Some have not attended school and will have a very difficult time being placed in the proper classroom or educational settings (Faulkner). Parents who go through this type of situation are mainly stressed, lack of sleep and are worried about the safety of their childs return. Child abduction can have a huge impact on the parents and child also. The parents may wonder why this thing has happen to them. In 1998 study of Parents worries by Pediatricians at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, nearly threequarters of the parents said they feared their children might be abducted. Thats why you have to watch out who you communicate with.
