PROPOSAL PART 2: INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS

Purpose
We at NU Integration propose that educational workshops on how to use the new interactive InFocus smart projector should be held as a continuation of the informational graphics previous developed. These workshops could include short commercials [presented] during video announcements and/or through e-mail correspondence. This type of broadcast would be beneficial in gaining public awareness of the technology and necessary interest from both the students and faculty. Gaining buy-in from the end users is imperative for a successful integration of the InFocus projectors into the classroom. Opportunities for Teachers: These workshops will [offer] provide the teachers [with] will a comfortable, interactive, environment in which they will be able to confidently gain the skills needed to use these projectors. Opportunities for Students: Students will have the opportunity to work on these video clips allowing them to use the technology and understand its benefits. Involving both the teachers and the students allows for the technology to become less of a burden and more of a means to connect students and faculty.

Objective
To present the starting blocks for commercial and workshop ideas which can be further elaborated and developed either by students in afterschool/audio/video classes or interested faculty.

Ideas
The next few pages outline potential commercial ideas, which can be ultimately developed into weekly workshops. Registration for these events could be conducted through outlets such as a Google Form shown below:

PROPOSAL PART 2: INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS Commercial Idea #2: Students starting a lab in science class A lot of instructions are written on the board, but no one is paying attention. Pan over to a class with an InFocus Project. Pictures now accompany the steps for the lab. Everyone is paying attention because of the appealing lab presentation done with the projector.

PROPOSAL PART 2: INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS Commercial Idea #3: Student is working on an assignment in class. Student is unsure of what the next steps are and requires assistance on a problem. Student raises hand for teacher to assist. Teacher begins to explain the problem and help student Teacher remotely navigates through a PowerPoint or other learning materials to aide in helping the student. Workshop on on-screen annotation

What this shows: This commercial conveys the convenience of being able to directly assist a student while controlling teaching material without ever leaving the student's side. This increases the comfort level between the teacher and student and eliminates wasted time spent traveling to and from the computer in the front of the classroom.

Dear Rhodes, Sam, Bret, Jacque, Jake, Andrew, and Ian, Your second proposal document offers further instruction the use of the new projector technology, and also works to engage the various components, such as student media instruction, of the overall technology program at English High School. Thus we see strategic sensitivity to the objectives of the audience. The proposal is well-ordered and cogently presented. It has several clear features and offers several distinct possibilities; these are clearly Page 5|6

described and illustrated. Thinking of plausible classroom scenarios that show the use of the new technology can serve the objectives presented to you by the community partner effectively. Excellent. We might press this a bit: what is especially tricky about what is proposed? Where might it work poorly? Is it equally adaptable to the presentation of all subjects? The teaching of literature is based on text, science is based on concepts (to make a very rough distinction). Does this difference shape the use of the technology? Your group has shown great resourcefulness and strategic, critical thinking. It has delegated a variety of work in effective ways. Yours,
