What is a Geodatabase and what benefits does it offer?

The geodatabase is the common data storage and management framework for ArcGIS. It combines "geo" (spatial data) with "database" (data repository) to create a central data repository for spatial data storage and management. VHEA uses this type of data structure to: - Store all spatial data in one location.
-

Apply sophisticated rules and relationships between data. Build advanced geospatial relational models (Topology,Networks). Maintain integrity and assist in normalizing data. Integrate spatial data with other IT Databases.

Easily scale storage solutions (Compress & Compact).

Preferred method for delivering data via the web. Supports multi-user or single use editing. Allows archiving or tracking of data over time.
Veterans Housing & Employment Ability to replicate data very easily. Assistance

Everybody knows better information leads to better decisions. GIS is a tool to query, analyze, and map data in support of the decision making process.

One of the main benefits of GIS is improved management of resources. A GIS can link data sets together by common locational data, such as addresses, which helps divisions and units share their data.

Veterans Housing & Employment Assistance

GIS technology is powerful and affordable. Its strengths lie in its ability to create, access, integrate, and publish large amounts of geographically relevant information. VHEA is in the process of assembling a thorough geodatabase filled with information that will more efficiently serve our Veterans and their families.
