Kenan Sofuoglu takes his first 2014 World Supersport win at Motoland Aragon

Sofuoglu Crashes outout of to Restarted World Supersport Race For Kenan, today has turned be an almost perfect day. Over 7 laps in morning warm up, he worked his way up to the top of the time sheets. A best lap of 2:01.670, put him 0.362 seconds faster than his nearest rival.
Kenan started the 15 lap Aragon World Supersport race from 5th on the grid after difficult practice and qualifying sessions yesterday. Lying in 7th place on the first lap, Kenan battled his way through the pack into a solid third position behind Coghlan and Cluzel and was preparing to fight for the win. A crash on the 11th lap between Cluzel and Coghlan, which is currently under investigation by the organisers, caused both riders to lose their positions in the race. Kenan narrowly missed the incident and became the race leader. Keeping a good distance ahead of closest rival, Pata Hondas Van der Mark, Kenan took his first win of the season for the Kawasaki World Racing India team. This win puts Kenan 4th in the Championship standings behind De Rosa, Marino and Coghlan. Fabiens luck went from bad to worse after a technical issue, at turn one on his first lap, caused him to retire from the first race. Race two was much more positive for Fabien who finished in a respectable 15th place in the World Superbike Championship. This result puts him 14th in the World Superbike Championship standings and 3rd in the EVO Championship standings. The team are now looking ahead to the next race which takes place on the 27th April at TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands.

Kenan Sofuoglu Rider World Supersport Championship It was a difficult weekend for me. In morning warm up, I got my pace back. At the beginning of the race it was crazy, it took a while to see what would happen at the end of the race. During the last 5 laps I thought that it was time to make a move and win the race and then the crash happened. Because of the crash it looked like it was easy for me to win the race but it was not. I am pleased with the 25 points and everything is looking good now for Assen.

Fabien Foret Rider World Supersport Championship This weekend was not a good weekend for me. After technical problems on Friday and Saturday, my bike failed on the first lap and I am disappointed that I could not finish the first World Superbike race here in Aragon. My second race was much better and I finished in 15th place. It is better but this is not where I want to be, I want to be competing for the EVO Championship wins. I am confident that things will improve in Assen and that I will be back up there competing for the EVO Title.
