2014 Fifth Grade Talent Show

Guidelines and Information

Its time for FVEs Annual Talent Show and we are excited to see what is in store for us this year. Any 5th grade student who would like to perform is encouraged to return the completed application to Mrs. Horton or Mrs. Dickson no later than 7:30am on Thursday, May 15. Late applications will not be accepted. This means that applications will NOT be accepted from students who are absent on Thursday. Turn it in early! CATEGORIES Vocal Comedy Drama Instrumental Other RULES & OTHER INFORMATION Performances must be no longer than 2 minutes Setup & Equipment We will have a piano, a CD-Player, and an MP3 player hookup. Performers must provide anything else they need. There should be little set-up for acts. If using a recording with words A copy of the lyrics must be provided when application is submitted. Songs with inappropriate lyrics will not be permitted. This applies to any music used during dancing, juggling, singing, etc. If singing a song is your talent: Words must be sung from memory. No lip synching (mouthing the words) Must be sung with a karaoke CD*. You may not sing with the original performer. *This does not apply to students doing a dance/skit with music. - SEE MRS. OURY, MRS. DICKSON, or MRS. HORTON ASAP IF YOU NEED HELP FINDING A KARAOKE TRACK! Costumes If you are planning to wear costumes for your act, describe what it looks like on the application form. Costumes must be appropriate for 5th grade students. AUDITIONS (May 21) Performances will be judged on the following Setup and Props Professionalism Evidence of Practice Quality of Performance Appropriate for 5th grade level (words, clothing, movement, song) Creativity / Enthusiasm Adherence to Time Limit NOT ALL ACTS THAT AUDITION WILL PERFORM IN THE FINAL TALENT SHOW.
