I&iowing the fear of the Lord, and how He has commanded us to preach the word to all the world, we plead for the salvation of souls here in Cape Town, FJe plead for
the unity of all believers by the restoration of the Church as revealed in the Word

barber shop we seek to exalt Christ and point men to the 3iji5)le New Testament church. There are many different beliefs in Cape Town, ranging from Islam to Roman Catholicism and Judaism to Mormonism, but if we would all come to Christ and, obeying his gospel, become a part of his body the Church, vre would be united and Cape Town would be won for

It is good to know that, al though we are separated by rtiany miles, we are all one fellowship and one family in Christ. May His grace, mercy and peace be with you. We do thank God on your behalf, always remembering with appreci ation your prayers and gifts which strengthen our hands as we labour for our Lord in this land. NUMBER 7
It is never easy to say good-by. The more so for us as we were 1 leaving a church and the fellowship of people whom we had come to love
dearly in the Lord. Yet it is often so in the Lord's work. The fields are wide, the laborers are few, and the time is so short. So it was
that, with Brother Clough coming to Wynberg, we were leaving for Pre toria. At a farewell service on June 20 we were presented with a
slide-projector, a table cloth, and a bath towel from the folk at the
VJynberg Church of Christ, The next day Tuckers Cartage came to get our furniture, and after the week-end we set off on the 1,000 mile journey nobth to Pretoria, the capital city of South Africa. In a raging torrent of rain we left Cape Town at the southern tip of Africa, and headed Into the interior. Visibility was low as we
steered the Vauxhall over the tortuous ascent of Du Toit's Kloof In a
thick mist.
In the grey light of dawn a lone car wound its way among the sky
home of A1 and Annette Hamilton. Now we were just 3ij. miles from Pre toria, and in fellowship with our co-worker in Christ. Arriving In Pretoria we took the car in for servicing, and walked up Pretorius
Street to our new apartment In Canna Court. The furniture van was
there already, and after two days we were settled in Pretoria, On Sunday we drove into Johannesburg and I had the privilege of preaching at the Evening Service for Brother Hamilton. In an effort
to promote the work of Christ in the Rand (consisting of all the cities in the vicinity of Johannesburg) Brother Hamilton is making plans to
met with representatives of the other church to further negotiations for the purchase of their building. Our big enemy Is time. #10,000 is needed this month to secure the property. If you wish to help in
this project please send a contribution to Brother Hamilton's forward
ing agent:
But now let us tell you of our new work here in Pretoria. Already we have printed invitations in the Afrikaans language for our "BYBEL LESINGS" or Bible Readings. These are to be held in our apartment every Tuewday evening beginning tonight. In addition we are hoping to hold meetings at the Pretoria University, and Pretoria jail. As soon as we have contacted enough people we plan to rent a building for
full-time church services, in much the same manner as we have done in
Wynberg. Pray that the Lord will bring these pland to fruition ac cording to His will, and for His name's honor and glory.
need to feel in our hearts the urgency of the gospel. Souls are going out into eternity and we stand on the very verge of Christ's return. The Word of Life must go out. The gospel must be proclaimed to all peoples. It is the last hour. The hour of triumph and victory for the church of Christ. Let us each one help to make It so. May the Lord bless you and guide you, both in your own witness for Him, and In
your prayers and support for His laborers far across the seas.

Greetings again to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. As you know we are now in Pretoria working closely with Brother A1 Hamilton who is now ministering in Johannesburg just 3kmiles from us. Last Sunday afternoon I went with Brother Hamilton to the Rand Epileptic Home in the suburb of Craighall Park. It was a
great privilege for me to conduct a service there in the Afrikaans
language. We sang hymns such as "Nader my God by U" and Welk ^n vriend het ons in Jesus", then I preached on the subject "Die dood van Christus." (The death of Christ). How we rejoiced when, at the
evening service, one of the men from the Home confessed Christ.
Here in Pretoria we have been making calls and appointments to bring our plea for simple New Testament Christianity before the people.
7^% of the people here are Afrikaans speaking, and many of them be
long to the Dutch-Reformed Church, One couple, Mr, & Mrs. Jordaan, are very close to obeying the Lord. They believe in baptism by immer sion, but so far have not seen the necessity for it. Please pray that the Lord will guide them to know and do his will. I have also spoken with an Anglican lady who teaches music at the Pretoria University. We spoke concerning the importance of God*s Word, and Bible teachings on salvation. She has asked me to make another appointment to further our study. I have also applied to Colonel Jacobs of the Pretoria Jail for permission to hold services in the jail, and am awaiting his reply. While calling at the Andrew McGollom Hospital I learned that
there was an anti-instrument church of Christ in Pretoria, I went to
call on their minister. Brother John Hardin. In our talk I discovered that the only defence they have of note is a negative one: that as far
as church historians are able to ascertain the instrument was not used
in the early church. Brother Hardin frankly admits that, using the New Testament only, he could not condera the use of the instrument as an aid to singing. I attended an eldership class led by Brother Money of Houston, after which Brother Hardin and I had another session last ing until midnight. They had an excellent Vacation Bible School last week, and we sent Alandra Jo until she got a sore throat.
Now what of the Wynberg Church? When we loft Cape Town Brother Zimmerman very kindly agreed to give temporary oversight to that work until the arrival of Brother Jack Clough. We received word that the Wynberg brethren are doing vary well on their own. Brother Thomas, an elderly Coloured man recently added to the Wynberg Church who fprqierly hold services in his own home, has been taking charge of the services. Interest has also been growing among the Young People who led the services one evening. The church also takes a monthly offering for the Ozark Bible College School of Missions. I have received word this week from Brother Clough who is making plans to come to Cape Town to minister to the Wynberg Church, Thus far he has only been able to
heart. We need a new man in Cape Town as soon as possible, not only to minister to the Wynberg Church, but also to assist Brother Zimmer man in the work of evangelism and teaching. How white is the harvest,
month of your personal support to spread the work of the gospel in Africa? Please write him a note today: JACK CLOUGH, 1^43 A STREET,
