1.03 SUBMITTALS
A.

Product Data and Samples: Submit manufacturer's product


samples and technical data including the application
instructions and recommendations for each dampproofing
material required.

1.04 TRANSPORTATION, HANDLING AND STORAGE


A.

Deliver materials in manufacturer's unopened, labeled


containers,and comply with the manufacturer's storage,
handling, application and protection requirements.

2.01 DAMPPROOFING MATERIAL

2.02 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS


A.

Primers: Where required, provide the type of primer as


recommended by the dampproofing material manufacturer.

B.

Protection Board: Provide 3 mm


thick multilayer pressure bonded board with asphaltic impregnation
as a protection for the
waterproofing where
shown
on
the Drawings.

C.

Vapor Barrier: Polyethylene sheeting conforming to ASTM


D 4397, minimum 200 microns thick having a vapor
permeance
rating
not exceeding
0.063 perms, and
shall be laid with 300 mm overlapping.

3. PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01 PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATE

3.02 APPLICATION
A.

General: Comply with the manufacturer's instructions,


except where more stringent requirements are shown or

Extend vertical dampproofing down walls from finishes


grade line to top of footing, extend over top of
footing
and turn down minimum
of 150 mm over
outside
face
of
footing.
Extend
300
mm
onto
intersecting walls and footings but do not extend onto
surfaces which will be exposed to view when project is
completed.

C.

Surface must be thoroughly cleaned and free from


dirt, debris, loose gravel, scale and dry. Prime the
surfaces with
manufacturer's
standard
primer
as
per recommendation
and allow to cure to tack free.

D.

Apply two coat of liquid dampproofing material by


brushing with a minimum dry film thickness of that
specified
in
this
section
unless
otherwise
recommended by the manufacturer.

E.

Allow time for complete drying between the different


coats.
