Terms of Use

Subscribers can download papers and make up to five copies of a paper for internal use by individuals who are authorized users under the terms of the Baker Hughes subscription. Technical papers are copyrighted material; therefore, employees are not authorized to recompile or republish all or portions of papers in any form or medium without prior written permission. Papers may also not be stored on a corporate intranet or extranet without authorization. Papers downloaded for a specific project can be temporarily stored and shared by a project team, but must be removed once the project has been completed. Additionally, papers may not be stored in an electronic library or repository for future access by employees or non-employees.
OnePetro Access

Access to technical papers, via the Baker Hughes subscription, will be provided through domain validation only. In order to use the Baker Hughes subscription, the registration process described in the next section must be completed. Baker Hughes employees, who register using a bakerhughes.com e-mail address, may download OnePetro papers at no cost. Searches for papers can be performed using basic, advanced, specific article, or geosearch options. Once the applicable criteria have been provided and the search has been performed, the abstract and PDF version of a paper may be immediately viewed or saved by clicking on the appropriate link.
OnePetro Registration Process

Registering on One-Petro is a multi-part process and, once registered, you must always log in to the OnePetro site before accessing papers in order to see the PDF links in place of the Add to Cart links. Additionally, your registration must be renewed every so often to insure that you are still a Baker Hughes employee and, therefore, entitled to use of the subscription. Please follow the instructions outlined below to register for use of the Baker Hughes subscription. If you successfully created a login ID, but still see Add to Cart links instead of PDF lnks, try starting with step 2 to complete the registration process. Instructions for setting yourself up with access based on e-mail domain: 1. Create a login ID on OnePetro . This can be the same login ID and password as the one you use for spe.org, but you must create a new account for OnePetro. Go to the OnePetro website. Click on the Login link in the upper right corner of the webpage. Click on the "New User Registration" link. Enter your current company e-mail address as your login ID. Fill out the required fields on the profile page. The zip code is required for US addresses. If you are an SPE member, you can enter your SPE.org login ID and password on the Membership page. Go to http://www.onepetro.org/mslib/protected/entitlement/RequestEntitlement.jsp . (Logging in to OnePetro is required. If you are logged in to OnePetro when you click on the link, you will be taken directly to the Domain Validation Registration page; otherwise, you will be prompted to log in first.) Enter your current company e-mail address. Click the link in the e-mail. The link will take you back to a webpage on OnePetro that validates your e-mail address. (Logging in to OnePetro is required.) You will get another confirmation e-mail stating you have successfully registered your e-mail and can now begin using the Baker Hughes subscription.

If you have forgotten your password, follow the instructions below. Go to the OnePetro website. Click on the Login link in the upper right corner of the webpage. Click the Forgot Your Password? link underneath the Login button. Enter your e-mail address and click Submit. If you no longer see PDF links when you have logged in to OnePetro, you most likely need to renew your registration using the steps below. Go to http://www.onepetro.org/mslib/protected/entitlement/RequestEntitlement.jsp . (Logging in to OnePetro is required.) Enter your bakerhughes.com e-mail address. Go to your Baker Hughes e-mail inbox where there will be a confirmation e-mail. Click the link in the e-mail. The link will take you back to a webpage on OnePetro that validates your e-mail address. (Logging in to OnePetro is required.) You will get another confirmation e-mail stating you have successfully registered your e-mail and can again use the Baker Hughes subscription.
