We praise his holy name, we listen eagerly for his words of comfort, hope, and challenge to us, and we offer ourselves to him in dedicated service. May you be blessed as you worship here today.
St. Paul Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (E.L.C.A.). It is referred to as Borchers since Rev. Henry Borchers, who served our congregation from 1857-1881, advised and influenced a small group of pioneer settlers that wanted to establish a congregation in the area. This year we celebrate 162 years of life and ministry in this beautiful country setting in Southern Indiana. We look forward to many more years of growth and change as we seek continually to be faithful to Gods call to mission.
Sunday School classes are held each Sunday for all ages at 9:10 a.m. Visitors are welcome to attend.
HEARING ASSISTANCE: We have
head phones available for those in need of assistance with hearing. They are located on the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.
LARGE PRINT BULLETINSThere
are a handful of large print bulletins available. They are located on the table at the entrance of the sanctuary.

As a way to be intentional about praying, I will be offering two different times each month for people to gather for the sole purpose of praying together. As we gather, we will begin with a short teaching on prayer followed by time spent lifting up a variety of requests and whatever else is on peoples mind. The dates for these prayer gatherings are: This evening 7:00 pm and Wednesday, April 30th @ 7:30 pm. Any questions, please talk with Pastor Steve. If you are unable to come, you are still invited to take time during these appointed times to pray and lift up a variety of requests and petitions to God. MOM'S ANGELS is the name of a group forming for anyone who has experienced the death of a child. If you are interested in talking with others who have also experienced this type of loss, you are invited to an organizational meeting to be held Wednesday, May 21, at 7 PM in the Fellowship Room. Ideas for future meetings will be discussed and beverages, desserts, and fruit will be served. If you have questions, please contact Trish @ 812.371.1018. Note: Dads are welcome, as well as parents who've lost adult children. Also welcome are parents who have lost children through miscarriage or abortion.

SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDENTS, Your help is needed with collecting items to assemble the Lutheran World Relief Personal Care Kits & Baby Care Kits. Donations have been lower for the last few years, so our goal during the month of April is to collect enough supplies to fill 50 kits. Boxes will be placed outside of the classrooms to drop off your donations. READ ALL ABOUT IT! By the Mission Out Reach Room you will find a collection box for gently used and new books appropriate for reading levels 1st through 7th grade. Books will be donated to Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Reading Camp, a week long summer camp devoted to struggling readers. The books collected at St. Paul will be given to attendees to take home with them after camp, and used to practice their skills throughout the summer. This is a great opportunity to weed books from your childs collection he/she may have outgrown, and pass them on to benefit another child! If you have questions about donating books or about the camp, contact Susie Alstatt at 524.0947. CARE FOR GOD'S CREATION, an Earth Day event, will take place again this year in the church parking lot from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, April 26. Going Deeper
The purpose of this page is to provide a tool or instrument for your spiritual growth. This page contains a brief synopsis of the readings as well as some questions for your reflection to help you go deeper with the Word. On the back is a day by day listing of scripture readings with possible prayer request. Individuals are listed on their day of birthso that you might pray for them on their birthday. Also on the back is the prayer list for the congregation. Keep on Growing Spiritually!! Readings for the Day: I Corinthians 15:19-26: Paul describes the consequences of the resurrection, including the promise of new life in Christ to a world that has been in bondage to death. He celebrates the destruction of evil and the establishment of Gods victorious rule over all. John 20:1-18: This morning began with confusion: the stone was moved and the tomb was empty. Disciples arrive, then angels, and finally Jesus himself. Out of the confusion, hope emerges, and a weeping woman becomes the first to confess her faith in the risen Lord. NOTES:
Questions To Ponder: 1What are your early memories of Easter? 2How do the traditions that you keep during Easter remind you of Jesus resurrection? 3What do you find interesting about Johns account of Jesus resurrection? 4How can you live out the significance of Jesus resurrection in daily life? 5Would you have had trouble believing the angels words? Why or Why Not? 6To whom is Jesus sending you with this message that Jesus is risen from the dead?
Memory Verse: John 20:18 18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord"; and she told them that he had said these things to her.
