On the first day, my practicum partner and I reported ourselves to SK Taman Segar. We met the headmistress of the school, Pn. Hajah Saminyah Bt. Haji Kamar and briefly introduced ourselves to her. We were asks to join the school assembly because its Monday and it is compulsory to have assembly for that day. We were given a chance to introduce ourselves during the assembly by the headmistress of the school. After the assembly is finished, we went to the office to meet personally with the headmistress and show her our identification letter as we officially doing our first practicum for a month here in the school. She briefed us on the important things regarding the school, including: 1. The organization of the school, school rules and regulations, discipline and the school culture. 2. Organizational structure, roles and responsibilities of school managers, discipline teacher, leader of the subjects, extra-curriculum teacher, classroom teachers and staffs. 3. Background of pupils and parents. 4. Etiquette as a good teacher in school 5. Organizing extra-curricular activities, sports and other relevant information.

After that, she asks us to meet with Pn. Suria Bt. Mamat, senior assistant of students affair regarding our timetable for teaching. After a while we were given two sets of timetable that consists of year 2 Bestari and 4 Cerdik. We need to choose among us which class that are suitable for us to teach. After a while, we decided that, my friend, Windy will took 4 Cerdik and mine 2 Bestari. We were been assigned with two cooperating teachers which is one for my friend that is Pn. See Yeok Lan and mine is Pn. Nurhanah. Both of them are good teachers and guide me well. The teacher showed us the curriculum specification, scheme of work for the year that we will be teaching. Throughout the week, I have a chance to teach the class 2 bestari for only 3 times. This is because during this week, the students have sports exercise and activities. So most of the class this week are cancel. Before I start teaching the class, I observed how my senior practicum teach in the class to get the gist of how to teach the students. From the lesson that I had carried out in the class, I found that the proficiency of the class is

from low to intermediate. There are some students can speak well in English while most of them speak in Malay because of they are shy or cant speak well in English. In addition, they are willing to participate in the class lesson and actively engaged in the question and answer question posed by me. Overall, I had done a good job of teaching them the English subject and I would like to see more for the following week to come. Other than that, I also have a chance to help the school in their sports practices and activities that were held on Tuesday and Thursday. I was involved with the Lompat Tinggi sports and Lontar Pundi Kacang. Both of this sports have made me realize how important a teacher can be when organizing a sports actoivities for the students to join in. We as a teacher need to teach them how to jump and throw to give them point for their respective sports house.
