accurate, easy-to-use design/analysis resource. VCESage provides engineers and inspectors with the ability to analyze both new and existing xed equipment for structural adequacy, code compliance, rerating, and remaining life evaluations based on requirements and guidelines in ASME, API, TEMA, EJMA and other internationally recognized codes and standards. For existing equipment, VCESage includes all levels of FFS assessment procedures contained in API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, as well as many new and alternative analysis procedures to facilitate analysis and remaining life assessment. In addition, VCESage contains special-purpose analysis modules. VCEDamage Mechanisms and DamagePlus software are quick reference guides for identifying and understanding damage mechanisms typically encountered in the rening and petrochemical industry. The software provides guidance through the damage mechanism selection process, helps with selecting the best inspection method for each type of damage, and provides simplied Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) that show where damage is likely to occur in a process unit. The technical basis of VCEDamage is API RP 571 and WRC 489, but the software also captures years of experience of corrosion and materials experts. Along with the existing VCEDamage features, the new DamagePlus oers customizable PFDs. VCEDamage and DamagePlus are particularly useful in determining damage mechanisms in conjunction with an API RBI study. VCEIntelliJoint oers a total software solution to troubleshoot bolted ange joint leakage problems. The software is loaded with the latest advanced technology, including assembly procedures and gasket test results. VCEIntelliJoint also provides access to industry best practices gasket specications, and incorporates knowledge in all areas required to eectively identify the root cause of a leakage problem: actual gasket behavior and modes of failure; eects of temperature on gasket, bolts and operational loads; and real-world tested assembly procedures, methods and parameters. CMLWise is a thickness-tracking program for assessing eld thickness data. This tool can be used to determine the corrosion rate at Condition Monitoring Locations (CMLs) and at the circuit level (logical grouping of CMLs with similar materials and operating environment) based upon standard calculation methods (long term, short term and regression). It also incorporates a newly developed probabilistic method, called the WISE rate method, which blends measured data with expert estimates, taking into account the error of the measurement technique, as well as the uncertainty of the estimate. In addition to providing a more reliable corrosion rate estimate, it also permits a quantitative method of assessing the value of taking the measurements in the rst place (a measurement technique with excessive error may not provide any benet).
