EDUCATIONAL THERAPY

INTERVENE, MAKE A DIFFERENCE, AND BE THE VOICE TO CHANGE SOMEONES FUTURE.

Children and adults with learning disabilities are often underrepresented in educational settings and in the workforce. Advocates are needed to be the voice, for these individuals who are often unable to speak for themselves. Those with learning, academic, social or emotional disabilities need the guiding hands of someone who is able to identify these needs and incorporate an action plan. That person could be you! Earn a Professional Certificate in Educational Therapy from UCR Extension, and help facilitate a working plan to get these children and adults on a path to success. The Professional Certificate in Educational Therapy is a program that works in partnership with the Association of Educational Therapists (AET). The purpose of the program is to provide interested individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to interface educational therapy with school curricula, or with the demands of vocational and professional advancement, in the case of working adults. You will learn how to construct customized intervention plans that meet the specific needs of the individual, with the intent of remediating their learning discrepancies. Educational Therapy is a fulfilling career choice for resource specialists, teachers of children with learning disabilities, speech/language pathologists, counselors and others interested in providing added support to children and adults with learning disabilities.
ADMISSION A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution is required, with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in university-level coursework in the junior and senior years, and any graduate coursework.
