General Objective: After 2 hours and 30 minutes of lecture demonstration, the BSN III A students will be able to gain

in additional knowledge, improve skills and develop positive attitude towards the concept on Fracture, Closed, Oblique, Displaced proximal third, fourth and fifth metatarsals at right foot. Specific Objectives

Accident - an undesirable or unfortunate happening that occurs unintentionally and usually results in harm, injury or damage Injury - harm or damage that is done or sustained Metatarsal - most commonly fractured bones in the foot Closed Fracture - a bone fracture that causes little or no damage to the surrounding soft tissues - also called simple fracture

2. To review on the anatomy and physiology of the foot.

The foot serves to bear the weight of the body and supports when standing and moving. 1. Tarsals - also known as ankle bones - are the short bones in the foot which connects the metatarsals to other parts of the upper foot. - these bones lock and unlock when moving from one direction to the other 2. Metatarsals - are five long bones in the foot located between the tarsal bones and phalanges of the foot.

4. To know the Health History

Past Health History - patient was previously hospitalized last 2009 due to Dengue. He doesnt have any surgical history. Family History - patient stated that his family both on the paternal and maternal side has history on hypertension and asthma specifically on the paternal side. Reason for consultation - pain on the right foot.

Current Health Status - two weeks prior to admission, patient, was playing basketball and accidentally twisted his right foot. During admission, patient was complaining of pain on the right foot.
