In contemporary society, health-related issues have (attracted much attention) become more essential than it has ever been

before, as a result they are now frequent headlines in media article. This review will provide a brief discussion of these sectors (concerns) according to 2 articles: Focus on prevention to control the growing health budget, and Food and nutrition absent from draft national curriculum, which be all these will be summarized and synthesized to get a more obvious understating about these articles. Summary Rod Moodie, who is the author of the former article, stated that Australian government s excessive expenditure invested on health system exceedingly and health care was considered (as) budget burden ($130 billion each year on health). In other words, there was a wasted expenditure on fields of drug bill, medical diagnosis, intervention and education campaigns even though they did not help resolve health care problem profoundly. However, human life expectancy can be expanded by applying effectively simple method such as reducing (resticting) junk food advertisement, encouraging frequent walking frequently, decreasing salt amount in food, etc, which all these approaches do not cost too much. Take an obvious example of salt reducing salt campaign, according to this article, it was predicted that $20 million spent on this campaign will get the same result as $1.5 billion spent on antihypertensive drugs. The latter article presented restriction (on) about draft national health and physical education curriculum. The essential background and skills in preparing (about) food, such as some practical and cooking classes, were mentioned weakly, while teaching children (about) diet nutrition plays a very essential play to help role in helping them healthier. In fact, Australian children do not get balanced diet due to they have few opportunities to access and practice nutrient information. Thus, the important point to improve Australias food future is to train and change childrens eating habit.

Questions To figure out this article, I will demonstrate some question about this article. Firstly, what is purpose of Australian government, when they invest a great of amount money in health service? According to this article, more than $130 billion is annually spent on health, about 9.2% of GDP. It is cannot be denied that with this figure, government may fund on other fields with more benefits. Whether it is actually wasted or Government has another purpose? Another question I should notice is that how many people will be affected negatively if the financial issue for health service continues happen? The explanation (reason/ rationale) for asking this question is that the cost for health service seriously brings down; while it has been investing not effectively. Thus, if this waste lasted for long period, it would cause many severe obstacles for development economy. Last but not least, Who will shoulder responsibility to change this fact in Australia to get better outcome? As with this extremely serious matter, it is related to profit of not only individuals but also the whole society. The more complicated problem is, the more difficult solving become. Why dont curriculum composer indicate food lesson into curriculum obviously? It is universally acknowledged that nutrition classes where students can prepare and cook by themselves play a very vital role in increasing human health quality. Indeed, it provides fascinated experiences and golden opportunity for students to enhance their knowledge about adequate diet. Because to (In order to)

remain healthy and fit, people need to control not only what kinds of food they eat but also how much is enough.

If nutrition became one of the primary discipline in the educational curriculum, who would take obligation to make it succeed? If a student was taught about preparing and cooking food from primary school, it is a challenge for students studying as well as teachers training method. In other words, these curriculum will reform and change content of education, adjust amount of time and schedule to fit with other subjects reasonably.

Article 1: Question What movements are likely to be taken? And is the cost of applying new movements less than the traditional ones. Rationale: there will be many steps need to be done in different area to ensure the expected outcome, eg: tobacco control, salt reducing compaign, junk food resticting compaign. Will the benefits of doing these newly introduced movements outweight the costs, and how can we measure it? Article 2: Question Can children really apply these methods at home? (Source of power (6)) Rationale: What happen if these childrens parents are unable to prepare them home cook as they are busy earning for a living, and as they are used to consuming fast food, so how can this newly teaching approach change parents viewpoint as well as habit to better have positive impact on children. What measures used to assess the outcome? (Source of motivation (3)) Rationale: what to be learned need to be tested when these become new subjects in school curriculum, so more pressures are exerted on children. If not how can we adjudge the result of doing so, because teaching children to do so will not likely to have an instant consequence but it is a longterm investment.
