The Republic of Uganda General Assembly 6 Democratic governance Toni Elie Melhem

When a government is well organized, free of corruption and truly democratic, a nation, even with the least resources can rise above all, but if that government is the object of perversity, it can accomplish nothing even with the largest resources. The Republic of Uganda flies in the face of corruption, democracys true enemy, and The first point in our program is the restoration of democracy. Thats why we give a lot of care to this issue.

Like any other nation in the world, The Republic Of Uganda faces corruption and disorganization in its government. However, we have made many steps forward to stop this problem: first by giving decentralization its true importance by legalizing the Measures to Strengthen Democratic Decentralization in Uganda. Secondly, our constitutions constant fight against corruption shows Ugandas devotion to solve this issue . Plus, in 2010, the country started working upon its National Development Plan to improve infrastructure and many other aspects and some measures will be taken to save nearly 40 billion US dollars to improve the service delivery and infrastructure. Finally, The Republic of Uganda has managed to keep a relative peace in its territory during the past years.

On an international scale, The Republic of Uganda sees the importance of this issue and takes part in many international actions. One of them is signing on the millennium development goals and committing to achieve them by their due date. A second one is taking part in the East African Community since its beginning. Finally, this country is part of the UN and accepts its resolutions and all the ICJ and ICC jurisdictions.

Many actions can be taken to move forward in solving this issue and provide the improvement in as many governments as possible in the world. One of them could be helping the developing countries to complete the MDGs and provide them with recommendations and support, as well as fighting the election-management and corruption in the world, and negotiating to stop the armed conflicts in order to keep a stable peace and insure a well organized and corruption-free democracy.
