Course Description : Psycho 11 : General Psychology : This is an introductory course to the study of psychology as a science of human behavior. Discussions of the different theories, principles, and concepts aim to give the students basic knowledge of human behavior and focus on the fundamental questions of how and why we think, feel, and behave the way we do, how we get along with one another, and why we become the unique individuals we are. This course is designed to introduce basic psychological theories and principles to college students, with the expectation that they will be made to recognize the relevance of psychology to their everyday lives. Psychology, as the study of human behavior holds tremendous opportunities for students to learn about social interaction, emotional needs, and environmental influences on behavior. : 3 units : 54 hours : Quizzes 30% Class Participation 20% Major Examinations 50% Total 100%

II. PHILOSOPHY OF THE SUBJECT A. Vision : It is envisioned that the subject will be able to produce well-rounded teachers who can understand and appreciate the uniqueness of every students. B. Mission : To develop future teachers who are equipped with the basic concepts and theories in psychology and who are able to apply these concepts and theories in the Philippine setting. C. Goal : To provide future teachers with a broad yet fairly detailed and scientific way of understanding human behavior and mental processes and to develop in them the ability to reflect on their personal experiences. Moreover, it aims to cultivate in the learners a critical understanding of themselves, thereby allowing them to realize their abilities and potentials
