1 Wedding dress, 1934 White silk satin, silk ribbon Scale: 1 box = 1" The front pieces of the bodice are cut with the neckline just short of the selvedge, and the selvedge folded in. From X to X, a 4.5" long silk ribbon is sewn, with a snap sewn to the ribbon 2" from the neckline edge; a thread chain with a matching snap is attached 1" away to hold a brassiere strap. The silk is lightly tacked to the ribbon at intervals. The side seams of the skirt are sewn together from B, with the corner E of the back piece coming forward over the front piece to end at point E, covering the edge of the front. The rest of the edges are hemmed and hang free. The center back is sewn from the mark down to the hem; it fastens with silk-covered buttons and self-fabric loops. The side seams of the bodice are sewn from D to B; the sleeves are slightly pleated between the marks and are then seamed and set in. They are slit at the bottom, and fasten with the same buttons and loops as the back of the gown. The lower edge of the front of the bodice is gathered to 4" from A to the mark, and is sewn from A to B to the corresponding points on the front of the skirt. The back of the bodice is sewn to the skirt from C to B as well. The bodice is only fastened with the tie at the back of the neck.
