DEPT. OF ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING BANGLADESH UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY COURSE NO: EEE 232 EXPT.

NO.- 03
NAME OF THE EXPT.: DETERMINATION OF TRANSFORMER REGULATION.

OBJECTIVES:
To study voltage regulation of the transformer with varying resistive, capacitive and inductive loads.

INTRODUCTION:
When a transformer is loaded with a constant primary voltage, the secondary voltage changes from its no load value because of its internal and leakage reactance. The change of secondary voltage from no load to full load divided by the no load voltage is known as regulation of a transformer.
/regulation = VNL VFL !%%/ VNL

As motor and incandescent lamps and heating devices are quite sensitive to voltages, transformer regulation is of considerable importance. The secondary voltage is also dependent on the power factor of the load whether it is leading, lagging or unity. Therefore it should be known how the transformer behaves when it is loaded with a capacitive, an inductive or a resistive load. In this e periment we shall try to find out this answers
