(March 21, 2013) The Orlando Science Center is proud to announce its annual Cosmic Golf Challenge at the Grand Cypress Golf Club on Thursday, March 28. Sponsored by Bright House Networks and Cisco Systems, the event returns for its 30th year with proceeds supporting Orlando Science Center and its educational programs. During the Cosmic Golf Challenge, corporate teams and individual players will come together to swing for science over 18 holes of four-person scramble tournament play. The Grand Cypress Golf Clubs New Course and South/East Course will both be open to golfers. Players will enjoy lunch, dinner, an awards ceremony, prize drawings and more. Many sponsor-level opportunities are also available from hole sponsors to food-and-beverage sponsors to help raise funds for the event. This year, hole-in-one prizes include the chance to win a car from Don Reid Ford and an 8-day golf trip for two to Hawaii. Participants can also purchase raffle tickets for exciting prizes like a Stay & Play at the Grand Cypress Golf Club, tickets to SeaWorld and a garage makeover from the Container Store. Two Orlando Predator Prowler Dancers will be on hand selling raffle tickets as well as participating in photo ops and meet-and-greets with guests. For almost three decades, Bright House Networks has helped raise vital funds for Orlando Science Center through events like the Cosmic Golf Challenge. Their participation helps the Science Center achieve its goal: to inspire science learning for life for the 385,000 guests it sees annually. Funds raised through the Cosmic Golf Challenge support the education programs that encourage children to explore the world around them through science. The live programming and exhibit experiences that result spark childrens curiosity and encourage them to see the impact that science, technology, engineering and math have on their lives and future career opportunities. The Cosmic Golf Challenge is open to the public. Foursomes and individual spots are still available. Fees are $2,000 for a foursome and $550 for a single player. Your registration includes lunch, dinner, cart rental and 18 holes of golf. For more information or to register, please contact Kathy Lopus at 407-514-2233 or klopus@osc.org.
