Teacher Preparation Call the fire station and police station and set up a day for these two people to come at the same time. Notify them that there will be two groups 25 minutes each to present. If they need anything that the teacher can provide have them notify me ahead so teacher can get the necessary materials. See if the firefighter and the police officer can bring their vehicles. 3. TW group the students into two groups. One group will go with the firefighter area and the other group to the police officer area. After 25 minutes, the groups will change places. 4. TW and SW express their gratitude to these fine people for taking the time to come into the class.
Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding?

During LA, students will write in their writing journals, what it means to be part of a community, who are a part of the community, and how we can show respect to members of the community, to others in the classroom, and our neighbors. The journals will be the assessment.
Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.

Hopefully, they will follow the rules of the classroom, they will show respect for their classmates, even if they dont like what the other classmates did, and to show respect by cleaning up after themselves whether it is in the classroom or out on the grounds.
H. Closure: Be writing in their writing journal of their experiences they learned this week and how they can be part of the community.

I. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? All parts of this lesson will be easy to teach. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? Making sure the students are being respectful to the guests and that they are following instructions. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? There will be a summative assessment. 4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? I dont think that the students will have a hard time understanding this concept. They are applying what they have learned and how they can show respect to others. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I cant think of anything that I would change in the lesson. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? I didnt really have trouble with writing this plan.
