1. The topic I want to use would either be about them missing Malaysian Flight and other past hijackings. I am torn between this topic and researching some aspect of cancer. 2. I wish to use the topic about the Malaysian Flight because it baffles me how they still have not been able to locate this airplane with all of the technology today. Also, this was not a small, tiny, jet. It was an airplane with over 230 people in it. I wish to look up stories about cancer because I have had people in my family very close to me who have passed away due to cancer. 3. I find both the missing Malaysian Plane as well as cancer interesting enough topics for my research paper because both are extremely mysterious and people have not been able to figure them out, even with all of the technology developed today. 4. About the Malaysian Flight, I know that there were over 200 people aboard, it was Flight 370, and disappeared on March 8th flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Beijing. There was only enough fuel in the plane to last the 6-7 hour flight, and the plane lost touch and went off radar to those monitoring it. There has been speculation of terrorism, or some type of hijacking. The plane still has not been found and authorities are now focusing on the pilot and copilot in the cockpit. I know that cancer is an evil disease that is caused by oncogenes. Cancer cells continuously divide building tumors in ones body, becoming deadly. Chemotherapy or radiation are the most common treatments. There are only treatments for cancer; there is no cure. 5. I expect to find several theories on not only the Malaysian flight, but also on why the cure to Cancer has not been found. 6. My idea would be worthy of approving because I feel that it would be extremely interesting to learn about different theories and ideas about what happened with that Malaysian flight and why it is taking so long to find it. This could also lead to research on past hijackings and terrorist attacks. I definitely feel like innovation could be taken from this topic as well. Cancer would be worthy of proving also just because it is a huge mystery in medical research. So many diseases and illnesses have been discovered; why hasnt cancer? 7. I hope from researching these topics that I learn things I did not already know. Also, that I can develop

my own theory after seeing several different opinions and perspectives. Im excited to research either topic. 8. My backup plan is whatever topic I decide not to use.
