REPORT ON COMPLAINT ABOUT POOR WORKING CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS PROVIDED TO THE EMPLOYEES. INTRODUCTION To investigate the production problem and personal problem faced by employee in the company and to make recommendations, as requested by Miss Khalidah Haneem, Human Resource Manager, on 11 March 2014. METHOD Data for this report were gathered from 11-13 March 2014. The topic of company's problem, and then a questionnaire was designed to collect staff opinions. Fifty staff were sent the questionnaire on the 11 March, and fifty-six returned it before the deadline on the 13 March. Six of the questionnaires were not completed correctly, and have not been included in the data analysis. Of those analyzed, 24 from senior staff, and 20 were from junior staff. Analysis of this data revealed that more detailed data was needed, and so one of head of department from each of our six departments was interviewed on 12 March. FINDINGS 1. INTERVIEW WITH HEAD OF DEPARTMENT 1.1 BAD WORKING CONDITION Strikes usually happen in the company because of includes unsafe working place and employee is not allowed to express the idea. From the analysis, strikes always happen in north of Malaysia and lead to the production is 20% below the target. On the other hand, there is no strike in the south of Malaysia and their production is 10% above the target.

1.2 STAFFING The quantity of the employees, especially the employees with skill and high quality are not enough to achieve the production's target. The turnover of the company is too high and the company needs to train new workers more frequently. In addition, the company faced difficulty in recruitment of new employees because of low salary rates. Based on the record, the salary of maintenance and electrical engineers are paid only RM 900 per month.

2. QUESTIONNAIRE WITH STAFF MEMBER 2.1 UNATTRACTIVE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The company did not provide medical benefit and safety insurance to the workers. This will increase the financial burdens on employees. Besides, the salary is low and bonus only provided for top management.

2.2 WORKPLACE SAFETY The workplace is not safe enough for workers to work. There are no any employees' safety handbook provided and safety procedure to follow. Employee did not demand for safety and health on the job because they fear of punishment.

CONCLUSION 1. The working conditions are not good enough to provide a safe working environment. 2. The salary, compensation and benefits are not attractive compared to other company. This caused company to attract new workers and increase turnover. 3. The medical benefit and safety insurance didnt provide by company. 4. Lack of experience and quality workers to increase productivity. RECOMMENDATIONS 1. The company should improve the working conditions and increase safety of workplace in long term. 2. Increase the experienced worker in order to increase in production targets in the north. 3. The company should increase the salaries and provide more benefits to technical personnel. 4. The improvement on employee benefits should be made in order to reduce turnover and save costs on training of new workers.
