lasso. Fasten off.
For loop, working in 4 center sts on
end of Flap, with WS of flap facing,
with size K hook and sueded
leather, join in first of 4 sts, ch 6, sk
next 2 sts, sl st in next st, turn, work
8 sc in ch-6 sp just made, sl st in
next st on flap. Fasten off.
Side Pocket
Cut piece sueded leather 2 1/2 yds
long. Starting at bottom on 1 side
of Bag, insert one end of leather
around center st at bottom and pull
ends even, working through leather
sts on each side of Bag, lace leather
strips up Bag side for 8 inches,
secure. Rep on other side of Bag.
Inside Flap Pocket
Row 1: With size I hook and ribbon
yarn, ch 50, tr in 8th ch from hook,
[ch 2, sk next 2 chs, tr in next ch]
across, turn. (16 tr, 15 ch sps)
Rows 28: Ch 6 (counts as first tr and
ch-2 sp), tr in next st, [ch 2, sk next
ch sp, tr in next tr] across, turn.
Row 9: Sl st in each of first 2 chs, sl st
in next tr, ch 6, tr in next st, [ch 2,
sk next ch sp, tr in next st] across,
leaving last ch sp and tr unworked.
Fasten off.
With row 9 at end of flap on WS, tack
sts on Pocket to leather sts on flap
forming an 8-inch deep pocket.
Finishing
Overlap right-hand Strap over left-
hand Strap 24 inches or desired
amount. For each Strap end, cut
2 pieces sueded leather, each 30
inches long; with both strands held
tog, weave through sts on short
end of one Strap pulling ends even,
pull ends on one side through
leather sts on other Strap where
overlapped, rep with ends on other
side, pull ends up to right side
and tie in knot. Tie knot in ends of
leather strips.
