Overall campus
reading level.
The Campus' Academic
Performance Report
showed that the overall
reading performance is
below the state mean.
Students reading in the lowest 10
th
percentile of their class will participate in
small groups during after school tutorials
focused on these strategies: Guided reading
for emergent readers and Literature Circles
for fluent readers.
Student progress will be
measured during BOY,
MOY and EOY using the
STAR Reading Enterprise
Assessment to monitor
progress.

Student turnover
after 5th grade
Data analysis showed
that most students that
were performing on or
above grade level left
the school once they
reached middle school,
migrated to schools
with something unique
to offer.
The business plan, proposal and
fundraising for the music program and the
Amigos Youth Orchestra System was
created as a way of promoting a community
of socially responsible students primed for
successful futures through rigorous,
ensemble-driven musical experiences.
A logic model will be
developed to document
accomplishment,and tell
the story of the program
or initiative.

Increase parental
involvement and
self
empowerment
NCLB requires all Title
I school wide programs
to employ strategies to
increase parental
involvement. But only
a handful of parents
participate consistently
in school related
events and volunteer
opportunities.
Facilitate the implementation of the
Wellness For Growth Program in our
school. Through this program parents will
acquire leadership skills to be a better
advocate for their children. These skills will
lead to foster increased parental
involvement.
Parents will be able to be
self advocates and take
care of their families

High percentage
of student failing
grades all across
the school
Every reporting period
cuts, there was close to
a 40% of students
failing in some classes.
When meeting with
teachers, it was
identified that the high
number of zeros was
mostly caused by work
not turned in or
completed by students
The PAWS (Pumas Achieving Work
Successfully) program was adapted from
the successful model implemented at
Beckendorf JH and with the collaboration
of Mr. Ted Vierling. Students cannot have
more than 3 zeros in a class, when they
reach this number they are assigned to
PAWS lab after school to complete missing
work, therefore they will not miss on
practicing important content.
The percentage of failing
grades in each reporting
period will be monitored
to identify the impact of
this program on student
achievement.

Special Education
state assessment
scores drop from
2012 to 2013.
Teachers are not
consistent in using
allowable
accommodations and
supplemental aids in
daily instruction.
A matrix for administrators to use
during routine walk-troughs was
created to monitor use of allowable
accommodations and supplemental
aids in class
Student performance in
state assessment will be
compared to the
previous year to measure
the impact of increased
fidelity of
implementation of
students
accommodations.
