Classroom Management Plan

1. Relationship/Community Plan
Building Relationships with students
It is important to set the proper tone early in the year from day one. As the
teacher I will need to show students that I an authority figure in the classroom. I
will do this by being fair, assertive, and consistent. A key aspect to any
relationship is respect. Showing students respect in all areas including
instruction, decision-making and discipline is critical in earning their respect. It is
from the place of respect that a positive environment can be attained. Some
ways that I will implement a positive community in my classroom are to
!ake students feel welcome by knowing their names, greeting
them, and being friendly towards them
"each in a variety of ways
Relate content to students# interests
Be consistent
Building Relationships between students
It is important to provide students with opportunities to get to know each other. It
is vital that students feel comfortable with one another in order to provide a safe
learning environment that respect is present. Regular group activities are a way
to ensure positive peer relations during the year.

stop what they are doing, copy the rhythm and listen closely for
instructions0announcements.
(. )ode 1ords- .ive the students a code word that when they hear it, they
will stop what they are doing and listen.
*. )ountdown from 2 and when you reach $ everyone needs to be listening.
.eneral /rocedures
Students can resubmit assignments until they are satisfied with their mark
or they reach $334.
)ellphones are not to be used during instruction time unless they are
given permission to use google or the calculator. "here are special
designated times that students can be listening to their own music but
there is not allowed to be te5ting when class is occurring.
Students must sign out and sign in when going to the washroom. "here
are magnets that have the student#s names on and must be placed on in
or out when they leave the classroom.
Attention to 6ifferent 7earners
I plan to have strategies ready for students so that they will be engaged in
the lessons, and I will be able to be fle5ible if I need to change anything
that isn#t working well in the lesson.
I plan on using differentiated instruction so that I can keep the students
interested and accommodate their different learning styles.

If a minor non-disruptive behaviour occurs during my lesson I plan to initiate any

If a minor disruptive behaviour is taking place during the lesson I will try and do
the following

unacceptable
- .et them to stop doing whatever it is 8i.e. talking to neighbour, getting
up and walking randomly around the classroom, passing notes9
- If the behaviour doesn#t stop warn them of what will happen if they
don#t stop 8i.e. they will be moved, have to spend time with you at
