Symantec Endpoint Protection Client, Windows and Mac system
requirements
Processor
32-bit processor for Windows: 1-GHz Intel Pentium III or equivalent minimum (Intel Pentium 4
or equivalent recommended).
32-bit processor for Mac: Intel Core Solo, Intel Core Duo. PowerPC processors are not
supported.
64-bit processor for Windows: 2-GHz Pentium 4 with x86-64 support or equivalent minimum.
Itanium processors are not supported.
64-bit processor for Mac: Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Quad-Core Xeon.
Physical RAM
Windows: 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended), or higher if required by the operating system

Mac: 1 GB of RAM for OS X 10.6; 2 GB for OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.8

Hard disk
Windows: 850 MB free hard disk space for the installation; additional space is required for
content and logs
Note: Space requirements are based on NTFS file systems.
Mac: 500 MB of available hard disk space for the installation

SEP Client Installation Steps

1. Copy and Paste the URL Link in the Internet Explorer page and click Enter

2. Click Save Package or directly Click Run to install the SEP client package in the MOE School
Machine

3. Click Yes to Continue SEP Client Package Installation
Note: SEP Client Package is an Interactive Mode SEP client Package (the Installation will be running in
the visible mode, so that the School Machine Users can make changes in the settings)

Click Next and say Accept to continue with the installation,

4. Select Custom option to select /fine-tune the above mentioned SEP features

5. Select/Unselect option that you want to install it on the School machine


6. Select / Unselect Protection features Option and Click Next to continue

7. Select / Unselect File Reputation submission to Symantec and Click Next to continue

8. Select / Unselect Data Collection Option and Click Install to Complete the Installation


9. Once the SEP client Installation, Automatic Pop-up will be raised to fill-in the School Code name

10. Please provide the School Name to complete the SEP client Installation successfully.

11. Click OK.
12. Open Symantec Endpoint Client from system Tray and Verify the School Code machines are
