1. Install Rheo3000. 2. Open the Rheo3000 package from icon 3. For customer using a cone spindle follow appendix A before step 4. 4. Select file and New from the drop down menus 5. Now we have three choices: i) New Measuring Program Create New Test Program ii) New Measuring Run Run Existing New Program iii) New Measuring Analysis Analysis existing Data
SECTION B NEW Measuring Program
1. Once new Measuring program is selected a new window will appear.

On the right hand side of the page the section labelled hardware must be completed. i) Ensure you select the correct Device (instrument model, found on the black sticker on the back panel of the instrument). ii) Select the spindle that will be used for the test. iii) Select the temperature controller
3. Above this section are three icons, these icons allow you to save the graph setting you require for the test, allow the user to enter information about the test in the head and footer fields.
4. On the left hand side of the screen we have the program line, where you can select what parameters the test program will follow.

5. Drag and drop the actions you require to run in the program. If you hover the mouse pointer over the icon an information window will pop up giving you a description to what function the icon will perform.

6. Once you have selected the test parameters you wish to perform you must enter the details of each block. Double click the icon; a new window will appear where the test parameters can be entered.
7. Once you have entered all the parameters all the blocks should no longer show the !. Meaning the test is ready to run, press the Execution Scheduling button MOVE TO SECTION - D

SECTION C New Measuring run.
Once you have created some test programs you can use this section to start the instrument.
1. Select file, new and then New Measuring Run, a standard window will open where you can select the program you wish to run.
2. Once you have selected the program you wish to run press the Execution Scheduling button MOVE TO SECTION D

Once you have written a new program or selected an existing program and pressed the Execution Scheduling Button. A New window will appear and the software will check connection with the Rheometer, ensure that the cable is connected and the instrument firmware is set to Remote.
Check the device, the measuring system (spindle) and temperature control is all is correct press start.
The test will now run and the data will be collected as per the parameters you have set from Section B.

7 of 9 SECTION E Measuring Analysis.
1. 1 st you will see a database of all the tests preformed on this version of Rheo3000.
2. Select or search for the sets of data you wish to analysis. 3. Once you have selected the data a new window appears with all of the data and information listed on the left hand side.

8 of 9 4. Additional analysis of the data can be achieved buy dragging the required icon from the analysis blocks.
APPENDIX A Entering Cone constants.
If you have purchased a CPS model you must enter the cones shear rate constant found on the cone certificate.

9 of 9 From the main menu select, Configuration, then Device management.
The 3 icons on the left hand side allow the user to select and remove spindles and temperature devices for the standard configuration of the instrument.
Select the bottom icon on the left had side show measuring systems
Select the cone you wish to use, in this case C50-1.
Now we must enter the shear rate factor Kgamma from the cone certificate, in this case the factor is 6.0438.
