Pilates Pilates can help you get a dancers body: sleek and toned, with long, lean muscles. But it can also help you avoid needing a hip replacement or having back pain. Thats because Pilates helps improve flexibility, agility and good movement patterns. It teaches body awareness, correct posture, and easy graceful move- ments. In other words, it will im- prove both how your body looks and how it performs. So, whether you do Pilates for beauty, like Jennifer Anis- ton or you do it for functionality, like David Beckham, you ll be amazed at what Pilates can offer you. (Wear comfortable, stretchy, but not baggy clothing. Youll be asked to work barefoot or wear non-slip yoga or toe socks.)
