4. KNOWN ISSUES
Many of the issues below carry over from Avaya one-X Communicator 1.0 SP4 and are included as a reminder.
The following list is not exhaustive, but is an attempt to minimize lost time.
For upgrading through command line installation on Vista, command prompt has to be run as adminis-
trator. Follow the steps below to run the command prompt as administrator:
1. Click on Start -> Program -> Accessories
2. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
Avaya one-X Communicator does not support the following Avaya Communication Manager
features: aux-work, assist, after-call, auto-in, manual-in, stroke-cnt, work-code, vu-display
There is a bug in Windows XP and Windows 2003 where the right click menu appears behind the
application. It is documented in the Microsoft KB Article Number 943326, and a hotfix is available
for download. (MR 4852)
Placing a video call to Avaya Meeting Exchange at 30 frames per second may result in poor video.
Please administer MX to support a frame rate lower than 30 fps. (MR 7499)
Choosing the repair option to reinstall the application will not work for nested components. (MR
7666)
A bridged call answered on the principal extension will show as a missed call on the bridged ex-
tension in standalone mode (MR 7699).
Using the redial functionality, the user should click once rather than double-clicking, which may in-
terfere with the ability to end the call session. (MR 7802)
Performing a silent installation and choosing the option to install the Outlook Integrator when Out-
look is not installed will not show an error message. However, doing the same by invoking the MSI
works correctly. (MR 7956).
Adding a seventh party to a six party conference while using a 96XX phone in Desk Phone mode
will result in an error. (MR 7996)
Some users may not see caller ID when connected to CM 5.1(defsw083376) or CM 5.2
(defsw082921) (MR 8058)

Page 4
Related to MR 8058 above, if there is no caller ID provided, there will be no Outlook screen pop.
(MR 8051)
Performing a silent installation without Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 installed will not show an error
message. However, doing the same by invoking the MSI works correctly. (MR 8068).
Performing a silent installation choosing the SIP protocol and the video option is not supported.
However, doing the same by invoking the MSI works correctly. (MR 8098).
Performing a silent installation choosing Citrix and video options is not supported. However, doing
the same by invoking the MSI works correctly. (MR 8110).
When the user has a personal contact stored and the personal contact calls with a matching num-
ber, the call appearance will show the name in the personal contact. However, when Avaya one-X
Portal is providing the call logs, the call logs will not show the contact name as shown in the per-
sonal contacts but will show the default string provided by the system (MR 8158).
For voicemail attachments, if two attachments have the same name, only one will be downloaded.
For SIP telephones with expansion modules, call appearances must be provisioned on the primary
phone. A phone MR already exists for this issue.
Outlook Contacts Search Outlook must be running for this feature to work.
Call Logs are not correct for H.323 conference calls in standalone mode.
Call logs are incorrect for H.323 telecommuter calls in non-1XP mode
The following are known issues in general and not specific to this release.
If IP Softphone R6 or IP Softphone 5.x with Video Integrator is installed, this must be uninstalled
manually if 1XC with video is to be installed. Also uninstall the Polycom Media Companion or Poly-
com Via Video software if it is not uninstalled automatically. This is due to a Polycom Media Com-
panion issue.
4.1 DIALING RULES:
These are the special instructions for the Dialing Rules in Avaya one-X Communicator Release 5.2:
For Germany, a user needs to enter the area code with leading 0, e.g. in Frankfurt, area code 69 should be
entered as 069, and check the option Include area/city code when making a local call. This implies that user
needs to enter the local area code when entering the dialing number.

5.2 KNOWN ISSUES:
Creative Cameras:
There is an issue with the microphone support for these cameras. The PC will lock up and freeze after re-
peated use with the creative camera. Workaround is to run the audio tuning wizard and select a recording de-
vice other than the Creative webcam microphone. Also under
Control Panel | Sounds and Audio Devices | Audio. Set the Sound recording device NOT be the Creative Mi-
crophone. Also selected the checkbox Use only default devices
