What will you use to measure student understanding?
G6.2.4 Identify patterns of change in the community.
I will use the students poster and paragraph to measure the students
understanding of patterns that change the community.
Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.
I will know if students understand the concept because the paragraph will show me if
the student writes about changes in the community.
F. Closure:
Students will discuss how this lesson impacted them and their learning.
G. Reflection:
1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?
I think the easiest part to teach is showing the students what the differences in in
the pictures and why it has changed.
2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?
The most challenging will be for students who dont understand that change is
always happening and that there are changes in the area.
3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?
I will extend this lesson by having a student work with an adult at home to look at
pictures of the adults hometown in the past and pictures of it now and discuss what
has changed and why.
4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?
Students who dont grasp the concept I will have to go back a step and work with
them in a small group about looking at the first picture and really going into as
much detail as possible and working with the second picture and going into detail
of what they see in the new picture. Once they have done that brainstorm why
they might think things change and then hopefully this will help the student to
understand why there is change in areas.

I am not sure if I need to change anything, but maybe just having the class just
choose one location and everyone be on the same page.
6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?
The most difficult part would be getting the permission to go off campus to
surrounding areas to take pictures.
