1) Determinism can be best defined as the belief that all events are caused by things

that happened previously and we can't control what happens. The implications of
freewill with hard determinism is that there is no free will. This simply put is just an
illusion and is subject to the laws of physics and society. Compatabilism also known as
soft determinism says that causation and free will are compatible in nature. Also, our
actions are free so long as they are caused in the right way. Compatibilism maintains
that humans are free but it does not hold that have humans have free will. These
implications have a great effect on our everyday life. Even if you believe that you are
making a conscience choice, your choices have already been predetermined by
previous circumstances. There is a difference between making choices for oneself and
possessing free will.
2) Libertarinism seems to be the most compelling view of free will. This is defined as
logically incompatible with determinists view of free will which concludes that it is false,
but libertarianism says that we are agents of our consciousness.I do not think that
determinism is a very ideal thing in that matter. We should be able to be free in our
minds, and be able to make decisions based on what we observe rather then have
society tell us what to do. Everyone is individually unique and should express that.
Libertarianism says that we have non physical minds and a physical body. Our
behaviors, our future, and our self being should be ultimately up to ourselves and not
based on anything else. Of course some circumstances are not under our control but it
is ideal to think this theory. Humans obviously have moral responsibility for their actions
and this is the complete opposite of determinism.
3)Punishment is seen as argumental because there are different ways it can be
interpreted. Many could see it as too harsh or not enough for the world we live in. It is
best defined as the authorized causing od pain or harm to someone who broke the laws
of that jurisdiction that was deliberate. The wrong doer of such is entitled to it because
society feels like they need the protection of those who have broken the rules. When
talking about determinism in view with punishment it is not in conflict with people in their
actions. It does not require free will to teach a lesson to a person who committed such
acts to end up with punishment. To whom commits crimes they have made that decision
before they did it and had to make a choice because of determinism. Libertarinism is
closely associated with abolitionist meaning that they are not for the punishment and
want to get rid of it completely. They believe that there is little use for punishment and
society should be free. There is a lack of trust in this issue and are strong about their
position. Compatibilism is seen as a soft approach to determinism. Free will is
compatible with determinism so the distinction is that determining if individuals are
acting under their own will within circumstances without bringing in other sources of
philosophy. How could one be responsible for actions if there is no determination for
them. Punishment is justified through this because they use systems to fully understand
the motives behind the act.
4) Sometimes i shard to decide wether you oppose or favor capital punishment. Living
in a state where the death penalty is not in effect does make it difficult to understand.
Although there are both consequnetials that are favorable and then those that are
frowned upon. I believe that capital punishment is agreed upon. When you take the life
of someone who has done unreasonable crime this is setting an example for the rest of
society. The people of the state or nation will realize that this is a serious thing
happening today. This will lead to deterrence because criminals would reconsider
committing such awful crimes just the fact that they could be facing death as a
punishment. The problem with this is that it always doesn't work but it is the ideology
behind it. Another reason why capital punishment is favorable is because the prevention
of re-offendingwith certainty. If we execute those who are wrong doers then there is no
way that they can do the capital crime over and over again. Also, victims of the criminal
can get full closure of lost ones, just because the fact that they are no longer in this
society and there is no possible way for them to come back and hurt more people and
victims. There are so many ways to talk about the favorbles of capital punishment but
when it comes down to it, morality is the ultimate thing we have to realize. This is very
ethical in opinion, and many would oppose this argument
