O NV State Social Studies Standards G5.4.2 Identify spatial patterns on a map of Nevada, i.e., deserts, mountains, population. O Student-Friendly Standards I can find different patterns on maps. Overhead projector ready? Google Earth Downloaded? 30 copies of Assessment?

This social studies lesson is designed for 4th grade students to learn how to read and create their own maps. This lesson uses the Houghton Mifflin Social Studies Textbook State & Regions (p. 12-13). O NV State Social Studies Standards G5.4.1 Identify and use intermediate directions on a compass rose to locate places on a map of Nevada.
