making plans to return to Chile as
missionaries in 1989. From 1963 to
1966, they served in Chile with the
Bertrand Smith family. Since that
time they have maintained close con
tact with the field and kept up their
Spanish, which both speak fluently.
Mark spent twelve weeks in Chile dur
ing the summer of 1985, teaching the
Scriptures. During the summer of 1986,
both he and Elsa shared in a disciple-
ship ministry in Chile. They became
convinced of the need to return to Chile
as full-time missionaries, working with
Julio Carreno, national evangelist
and adopted son of the Smiths.
Mark was born April 23, 1938 in
Edmore, Michigan to Ray and Shirley
Huntley. He was graduated in 1960
from Great Lakes Bible College
with a B.A. degree in Theology. He has
served churches in Michigan, Kansas,
and Colorado. In 1974, Mark received a
Master's degree in psychology from
Fort Hays State University and has
been employed as a school psycholo
gist for the past 13 years to supplement
his preaching salary. He will be able to
use his counseling skills in his minis
try in Chile.
Elsa was born January 9, 1938 in
Kokomo, Indiana to Irvin and Maida
