GENERAL

3.1 Pumps and auxiliaries shall conform to API Standard 676 except as modified in Section 4 of this Guide. 3.2 The vendor shall furnish the pump, driver, gear reducer (if required), couplings, guards, and baseplate in accordance with this Guide, EGE 15-D-2, and the Project Specifications. The vendor shall be responsible for the guarantee and overall performance of the pump, driver, and auxiliaries. 3.3 If two or more pumps are purchased for the same conditions, the parts including those of the subassemblies shall be interchangeable. 3.4 4. The vendor shall comply with the requirements of EGE 00-C-4 except as modified herein. MODIFICATIONS TO API STANDARD 676

The following items are amendments to API Standard 676. The section and paragraph numbers refer to those used in that standard.
SECTION 2 BASIC DESIGN

Paragraph 2.1.2 (Substitution)

Equipment covered by this Guide shall meet the applicable noise levels established in EGE 00-B-5, preferably without the use of acoustic enclosures. If acoustic enclosures are required, the vendor shall include data and cost in the proposal.

Paragraph 2.1.4 (Modification)

Delete the words "when specified by the purchaser."

Paragraph 2.1.6 (Addition)

Casing sections or covers shall be fitted with jack-screws to facilitate dismantling.

Paragraph 2.1.7, First Sentence (Substitution)

All equipment shall be suitable for installation outdoors, where it will be exposed to the plant atmosphere and the full range of ambient and unusual environmental conditions specified on EGE 15-D-2.

Paragraph 2.2.2 (Substitution)

The maximum allowable working pressure of the entire pump, suction, and discharge shall be at least equal to the discharge pressure relief valve setting plus 15% accumulation.

Paragraph 2.2.3 (Substitution)

The pump speed recommended by the vendor shall be subject to Mobil approval. High linear velocities with unnecessarily high fluid velocities shall be avoided in the interest of less frequent maintenance, low noise, and NPSH considerations.
